Neath Polyphonic Choir

Neath Polyphonic Choir is a mixed voice choir which was formed in January 2010, with Mark Ritzmann as Choir Director. The Choir is open to anyone aged 18 years and over to come along and enjoy the experience of singing with others some of the most wonderful music. At present the Choir has around 50 members, some of whom have been attracted to the choir from Swansea and Bridgend as well as the surrounding district of Neath.

There is no audition required. Anyone interested may simply come along to a rehearsal to give it a try – all newcomers are warmly welcomed. Whilst the ability to sing in tune is necessary, the skill of reading music, although an advantage, is not essential.

IMG_0035The Choir is ideal for those who have always wanted to sing with others but are wary of taking on a heavy commitment of rehearsals, concerts, charity events, tours, etc. This is NOT the aim or purpose of Neath Polyphonic Choir, whose weekly rehearsals are fun experiences for everyone and the Choir’s two or three concerts a year are just an additional highlight.

All music is provided, and the repertoire concentrates on a mix of popular, classical and sacred music, which while maintaining a certain amount of challenge and reward to sing, does not try to probe too deeply into any one particular genre.
